Xchange for 2 flutes and harpsichord (2022)
Composer’s note
Xchange means change, transformation, exchange. I composed this piece in 2022 for Agata Kielar-Długosz, Łukasz Długosz and Marek Toporowski. In the piece, I employ my own technique of „controlled performance gestures”, which involves creating visual and auditory illusions. The musicians perform natural gestures typical of playing their instruments, but do not produce any actual, audible sound. The reception of auditory and visual stimuli is therefore disrupted, leading to a perceptual interaction with the listener-viewer.

Adam Porębski
Composer, violinist, teacher; a graduate of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, where he studied composition and violin, and holds a postdoctoral degree in musical arts. He furthered his education, amongst other things, at composition courses in Rēzekne (Latvia), Apeldoorn (the Netherlands), Radziejowice and Kraków.
